Jeremy Roenick and Derian Hatcher have battled on the ice. Some of those battles are etched permanently in the minds of Stars fans and NHL History. JR and Hatch were also teammates on some of the greatest teams USA Hockey has ever produced, including the 1996 squad that won the Gold Medal at the World Cup of Hockey. The two also came together for one additional honor, being inducted into the US Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2010.

Roenick, via text, congratulated Hatcher on his induction into the Stars Hall of Fame.

"Derian was one of my fiercest opponents for many reasons, his size, strength, and competitiveness made him frustrating to play against. But his leadership and commitment to his team and teammates is what made him a great Captain. It's also what caused me so much bodily damage     .  Even with our battles, I have the most respect and like Derian very much because he's a great person. Very happy he is getting this honor. It's well deserved.  "

The official induction of Hatcher and former General Manager/Head Coach Bob Gainey will take place tomorrow at Gilley's Dallas with the Victory Green Carpet Walk beginning at 5:15 pm.
